Delicate Lavender Honey Panna Cotta
This Lavender Honey Panna Cotta is a light and delicate dessert that captures the essence of spring. With the soothing flavors of lavender and the sweetness of honey, this creamy treat is perfect for a special occasion or a quiet evening at home.
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender
- 2 1/4 teaspoons unflavored gelatin (or 1 packet)
- 3 tablespoons cold water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Fresh lavender sprigs (for garnish)
Instructions
- Infuse the Cream: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, honey, and dried lavender. Stir gently to combine and heat until the mixture is just about to boil. Remove from heat and let it steep for about 15 minutes.
- Bloom the Gelatin: While the cream mixture is steeping, combine the cold water and gelatin in a small bowl. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes spongy and blooms.
- Strain the Mixture: After the cream mixture has steeped, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean bowl to remove the lavender flowers. This ensures a smooth panna cotta.
- Combine Gelatin: While the mixture is still warm, add the bloomed gelatin and vanilla extract. Stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
- Pour and Chill: Divide the mixture evenly among 6 small ramekins or dessert glasses. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
- Serve: Once set, gently run a knife around the edge of each panna cotta to loosen it. If you wish to unmold them, dip the ramekins briefly in hot water, then invert onto a plate. Garnish with fresh lavender sprigs and a drizzle of honey before serving.
Enjoy your delicate Lavender Honey Panna Cotta as a refreshing end to any meal!
